News on IVSA Congresses and Symposia

69th IVSA Symposium (Special General Assembly), Online

13th-14th and 27th-28th of February, 2021

We are very sorry to announce that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, IVSA Indonesia will no longer be able to host the 69th IVSA Symposium that was supposed to take place in January 2021. With this decision, the next international event will take the form of a Special General Assembly (SGA). The upcoming event will be taking place entirely online, on weekends 13th-14th of February and 27th-28th of February.

Theme of the 69th Symposium is Generation Change. The event focuses on our generation, the future of the Veterinary Profession. 2020 was a glimpse of what is to come in the next years – global pandemics, the perpetuation of climate change, rapid advancements in technology and care, conversations on diversity, and more. This year alone has taught us so much in addition to our veterinary education, including the importance of adaptability and resilience. Through education and inspiration, we are the generation that can change the world and our profession.

70th IVSA Congress (Special General Assembly) – Open Call for Host

TBA

It is with the deepest regret that we announce the following:
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, IVSA The Netherlands will no longer be able to host the 70th IVSA Congress that was supposed to take place in July 2021. With this decision, the next international event will take the form of a Special General Assembly (SGA).

The ExCo is still considering the possibility of an in-person event, with additional online attendance. As such, we have opened applications for a host for the SGA. The benefits of having an in-person event – even if it must be adapted to the current global COVID-19 situation – are irreplaceable.

Requirements for the SGA:

  • The event is to take place between July 1st and August 15th 2021.
  • The duration of the event should last for a period of at least 4 nights.
  • The hosting MO should be able to accommodate at least 30 delegates (including officials).
  • Provide a room (with WiFi) to host the General Assembly, where the necessary health and safety protocols can be respected e.g. social distancing, routine disinfecting, etc.

Deadline: 30th of April, 23:59 GMT.
