The International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA) will be hosting a Special General Assembly (SGA) in lieu of the annual symposium this year. This event will be hosted by SAVMA in North Carolina State University from January 1 to January 8 with the theme of “New Frontiers in Veterinary Medicine.”
Veterinary medicine is an ever-evolving profession. While veterinarians were once solely viewed as small and large animal clinicians, the veterinarian now holds roles in various specializations, exotic animal and aquatic medicine, food safety, industry, government, public health, and much more. The theme, “New Frontiers” will allow us to explore these non-traditional areas of veterinary medicine as well as to delve into novel ideals that have fueled the profession in recent years. Non-clinical workshops and lectures will focus on wellness, diversity, professional development, and soft skills.
This January 1st through 8th at North Carolina State University, veterinary students from all around the world will gather to learn, network, socialize, and come together as a family to advance veterinary education and knowledge around the globe. You won’t want to miss out on this! Applications are now open and will close at the end of September, and join the IVSA Symposium and General Assembly at NC State Facebook Group for all the latest information and updates! We hope to see you in North Carolina this January, and can’t wait to show our international colleagues the culture and quality of veterinary medicine in the US!
