A group of members organises a professional exchange trip for a specified period of time, ranging from 1 day to 2 weeks, to a member faculty in a different country, and receives a similar group from that faculty at a later date. Group exchanges offer an inexpensive and easy way for students to get an idea of how different faculties function. They involve a tour of the host faculty, its means of work and educational program, lectures on local veterinary education, cultural visits and other activities.
Objectives: To compare the educational program in different countries; to critically evaluate knowledge acquired at home and abroad and thus raise the level of education at participant’s home faculty; learn about veterinary issues particular to the host countries; allows students to get acquainted, exchange/share ideas and experiences gained within their respective IVSA local chapters; and above all strengthens the bond between veterinary students in their own country and abroad.
